SUMMARY:GAMA Policy Roadmap Series: ACCESS — Protecting Access to High-Quality Care
DESCRIPTION:What does it take to ensure New Mexicans can continue to access timely\, high-quality medical care?Join GAMA President Dr. Gabrielle Adams\, President-Elect Dr. Mark Epstein\, and GAMA leadership for the first conversation in our GAMA Policy Roadmap Series\, focused on ACCESS.The Access pillar examines the legal\, regulatory\, and administrative environment surrounding medical practice and how those policies affect physician availability\, practice sustainability\, and patients' ability to get the care they need. GAMA's priorities include medical liability reform\, prior authorization and insurance reform\, legislative conflict-of-interest transparency\, and third-party litigation financing disclosure. The first 20 25 minutes will provide an overview of GAMA's goals and priorities. The remainder of the one-hour session will be an open conversation with members about what physicians are experiencing in their practices and where GAMA can most effectively engage. This is intended to be a conversation\, not simply a presentation. We encourage members to bring questions\, experiences\, and examples from their practices. The Policy Roadmap belongs to GAMA's physicians and member participation will help shape how we turn it into action.
